Ludhiana hospital employee succumbs to death due to drug overdose, three arrested

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, a 24-year-old hospital employee died of a narcotic overdose in Samrala′s Gharkhana village. The victim, Sanpreet Singh alias Sunny had been missing since April 2. He was found lying unconscious on the periphery of the village and was rushed to the Samrala hospital. Doctors said that he was dead when he was brought to the hospital. The victim′s father complained that his son had not been reporting for duty since he had been injured in an accident.

It was also reported that Sanpreet left the house on Saturday, he left the house but never returned, however, a few villagers spotted him with the accused men. After some time, he was found lying unconscious on the periphery of the village. The victims father alleged that the accused had been involved in drug peddling and his son’s death came as an act of revenge from their side because he had tried to stop them from peddling narcotics. 

The accused have been booked under section 304 (culpable homicide) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
